Hello friends ✨
Spring has finally arrived in Stockholm, and I am deep in Book 2 edits, event planning, and worldbuilding decisions I need your help with 🌸🔥

The sun is finally peeking out from behind the rain clouds here in Stockholm, and it's making me feel absolutely wonderful. Spring is finally here and I can just feel life returning to nature all around me 🌿🌸

I've got to tell you, things are HAPPENING! First things first — I am deep in the trenches of Book 2 edits, and honestly? I am LOVING it ❤️‍🔥 Yes, it's a grind, and it didn't get better because I chose this exact moment to quit drinking coffee (wish me luck, Valfreja knows I need it). But every page I polish, every scene I sharpen, I just keep thinking: you are going to adore this. I am pouring everything I have into making sure Book 2 is everything you're hoping for 💜

This week I kept getting more and more questions on my Youtube channel (@vendysbookshelf) about the title of book 2. I have a title which I'm loving ✨ and I really want to share it with you! I'm waiting just a little bit longer to get feedback on the title with the story 🤫 I think it's a good one, but Promised to the Pyre was originally names Land of Liars (book 2 was supposed to be names Sea of Storms) and I don't want to risk revealing the actual title of book 2 until I'm absolutely certain

🎉Author Talk come find me🎉
Now — are you in Stockholm?! Because THIS SUNDAY (May 17th!) I am doing an author talk at Lava Kulturhuset in central Stockholm at 14:00, and I want to see YOUR face there! 🎉 The event is completely free and open to everyone, so there is literally zero reason not to come (I'm looking at you!)

I'll be joined by the wonderful V.S. Kristine 🙌 author of Agent in Flames — think Mr. and Mrs. Smith but make it spicy and absolutely gripping.

Together we'll do some readings, chat about our books, and have the best time. The library will have extra copies of both our books on hand, AND (this is the part I'm especially excited about!) I will be handing out Promised to the Pyre bookmarks to every single person who shows up. Yes, EVERY. SINGLE. ONE 😍 Plus, you'll be able to buy signed, personalized copies of both books at the end

Come say hi! I mean it 👋

🗺️Let's talk maps!🗺️
I need your opinion on something, because lets face it, yours are the opinions I care most about when it comes to my books 😍

As you know, Promised to the Pyre already has two maps. The world map and the city map of Tör camp. Now I'm considering adding a third map for book 2, it's a village map (kind of — I won't say too much). I don't actually think it's needed, it's one of those things that would be cool, but I don't know how much readers actually look at city maps. So before I make a decision, I want to hear what you think.

Do you love maps in books? Do you find yourself referring back to them as you read, or are they more of a "oh that's pretty" moment and then you move on? Would a village map add to your reading experience, or is it something you'd happily skip? To the newsletter subscribers, hit reply and let me know. I want to hear your thoughts🗺️💬

Thank you for being here and for your incredible support — it means more than I can ever put into words. Now go mark your calendars for Sunday and I'll see you at Lava! 🔥

With bookish love,
Vendy 💜
